To earn this Formative Instructional Practices (FIP) microcredential, the educator has completed several online learning courses. The FIP Level 1 Pathway includes:
- Introducing Formative Instructional Practices: Learn what formative instructional practices are, the key research findings of their effects on student achievement, and a few ways to get started with formative instructional practices in your classroom, school, or district. (1.5 hours)
- Creating and Using Clear Learning Targets: Learn how to create clear learning targets to use in your own classroom to guide learning and student success. (1.5 hours)
- Collecting and Documenting Evidence of Student Learning: Learn how to determine the best method of assessment for each learning target, how to create an assessment blueprint, and how to document evidence to maximize the usefulness of the information. (1 hour)
- Using Evidence and Feedback to Increase Learning: Learn about the power of effective feedback—how to provide it and how to create a feedback-friendly culture in your classroom. (1 hour)
- Fostering Student Ownership of Learning: Learn how to foster student ownership of learning in your classroom. (1.25 hours)
